Find Your Beach

Here is a shot of this Corona can with the Miami Skyline behind it. I wanted to create the feel of the lifestyle in Miami. I placed my camera on the floor about one foot away from the can and started doing 15 second exposures. I used a small LED light to light the can for about 5 seconds from about 15 feet away. I used the distance to diffuse the light a bit. I wanted to give it some shallow depth of field but I wanted the viewer to know it was the Miami skyline so I shot it at f11.

Tropic Cinema Key West

Walking the streets of Key West you can easily miss the Tropic Cinema. Once the sun goes down the place comes alive, the neon lights and Marlin Monroe are hard to miss.

I was walking around at night trying to find cool stuff to shoot when this I saw the neon lights out of the corner of my eye. I shot this hand held at blue hour but I went back with a tripod later that night and re-shot it. I like this one better.

Ocean Drive Reflections

This is one of my favorite shots from Ocean Drive. I was actually teaching one of my Sunset and Night Photography Workshops when I shot this photo. I saw this puddle of water on the floor and I knew I had to get down really low and get a reflection shot of the iconic Colony Hotel. To shoot this I had to get on the ground and I was shooting super wide. I used my 14-24mm lens.

La Floridita Havana Cuba

This is La Floridita in Havana Cuba. It is Ernest Hemingway favorite hang out in Old Havana, and it is also home to the famous Daiquiri. I was on my way to a roof top bar to take some photos and have a beer when I encounterd this place. It was packed and I was curios as to what this place was. One of the guys I was with told me the story. I did not go inside simply because I did not feel like being in a big crowd that night, but I did stay and took lots of pictures of the cars and the people gathering outside this awesome popular hangout. It is amazing the history every corner of this city has.

If you want to Visit La Floridita the best way to do it is to come with me. I am hosting a photography workshop in Cuba. Here is the link with all the details.

Las Vegas Nevada

Las Vegas Nevada, aka sin city, if you have never been there you have to put it in your bucket list. I have been there quite a few times and it’s always a crazy time. This particular trip I wanted to get a really good shot of the strip. So I booked a room at the Cosmopolitan. They have incredible views. You just have to ask them to put you on the highest floor facing the Bellagio. You will have one of the best views in all of Las Vegas and an incredible room.

Las Vegas Nevada

I stayed here for 2 nights and the first night we had an incredible sunset. No to mention the water show below is spectacular. I want to go back and book different rooms throughout to get different shots of the strip. I also want to rent a helicopter and get some aerial shots. That’s on my future plans for sin city. This time I want to spend more time checking out the incredible entertainment this place has.

Ocean Dr from the Sky

Ocean Drive is one of the most iconic places in Miami. I wanted to capture it like I have never seen it before. There are so many photos of this iconic street but I have never seen any close-ups from the air.

This is where my drone came into play, I wanted to get some different perspectives but at the same time capture the famous street in a way it could be recognized for what it is, Ocean Dr.
