Street photo shoot

Taking photos is the funnest thing ever. It gives me the excuse to go out and do something fun. I shot this girls a couple days ago and let me tell you we had a blast. What started off as an idea ended up begin the funnest part of the day. I did manage to break my camera but it is on its way to get fixed. The murals you see are from Amanda Valdez and Diana Contreras, I’m not sure about the other ones.

Check out this video I made and if you like it subscribe. I will be posting videos daily. Scroll down to see how I edited the photos.

Miami Beach Sunrise This Morning

Here is my favorite from todays Miami Beach Photography Workshop. I love doing this workshops they are so much fun. Loads of awesome photographers always show up and I end up making lifetime friends with most of them. It’s amazing how this has changed my life. Everyone learns awesome techniques and there is nothing better then photography talk with this view at six in the morning.

Below is the edit of the photo, even though I can’t shoot a lot when I’m teaching, I always try to sneak one or two photos in :)

Miami Open Aerial Photo Shoot

I was hired by the Miami Open to do an aerial photo shoot of their stadium. This was by a tall order. The shot they wanted had to be a head on shot of the stadium during a game but the helicopter could not interrupt the game. I had to make sure I had the right equipment for the job, I knew what time I had to be on top of the stadium to minimize shadows, and also I had to make sure I understood how high up the helicopter had to be up in the air in order to be silent to the players.

Lucky for me I have done lots of helicopter work. I knew exactly what had to be done to get the job done. The pitch angle of the helicopter was so crazy I felt like I was going to fall out. (thats what happens when you are hanging out of a helicopter with the doors off) The job took about 2 weeks to complete. From the initial meeting to the actual delivery of physical prints. (thats what the client wanted)

When you sign up for a job like this you have to make sure you do not go in over your head. This could of been one of those jobs if you didn’t understand how aerial photography works.

If you ever take on a job like this make sure you know a great pilot that can help you get the job done in a safe and timely manor.

The first image is what I was hired for. The rest of the images I got for the client as a small token of my appreciation for giving me the job.

If you need a aerial photo shoot anywhere in the world, contact me. I will be happy to help you. If you are an aerial photographer and have any questions, drop them on the comments below.

Toxic Algae Bloom in Florida

Here is what is happening in Florida. This is the toxic algae bloom going on in Florida waters caused by fertilizer, sewage, and manure pollution that the state has failed to properly regulate.

Floridas governor has declared a state of emergency in Florida counties. I shot this photos yesterday in the St. Lucie River. The problem is expected to get worse, and now can be seen from space via satelite. We must change, we are destroying our planet at an alarming rate… Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
