Summer in Miami

It is hot here in Miami, hot and humid. I love it, that ocean breeze is amazing and keeps things cool. This was from a sunrise photography workshop I did the other mooring. I wanted to create a very summer like feel on this particular image. I knew how I wanted it to look when I was shooting it. The sun was bright and a bit harsh. I used this to my advantage and created exactly what was on my head. Below is a video of the edit, and the after picture.

Swimming With Sharks

I woke up at 3 in the morning to go on a 2.5 hour drive up North. I went to shoot the sunrise at this place called Blowing Rocks in Jupiter Florida. Once I got there I shot the sunrise and it was amazing. However I was shooting video from my Youtube Channel and some guy asked if we had seen the sharks. I said no what sharks??? He pointed and told us where he was swimming with them. I immediately fired up the drone and flew over them, it was amazing. I was so happy not only to watch the sunrise but also to have capture this amazing creatures. They were nurse sharks and appeared to be feeding near the beach.

The video is coming soon and I am posting videos daily. Come subscribe to my Youtube Channel and get behind the scenes videos and tutorials on how I edit all my photos.

Naples Pier At Dusk

Every time I get the chance to go to the West Coast of Florida to shoot the sunset I take it. This is one of my favorite spots on the coast, it is Naples pier. It is an really cool place to photograph of just watch the sunset.

I can’t think of a time when I shot a bad photo here. This was on a very overcast day, it looked like it was going to start pouring, so everyone left the beach. I had the entire place to my self, it was perfect.

I shot this with a 14-24mm Lens here are my settings:
244 seconds at f/22 ISO 50 on my Nikon D800 (no filters)

The truth behind my Miami Beach Orange Photograph

It all started the day before, when I decided to go out on my motorcycle. (If you ride then you will understand this read). Next thing you know its really late at night and I had to get home, I had completely lost track of time, and could keep riding through the night. I got home and I fell asleep for about 3 hours before my alarm started going off, super loud, I had forgotten that I had a meeting on the beach to do a shoot at sunrise (I was the model this time, but thats a different story). Feeling like an asshole that I was almost late (maybe 30 minutes late) I threw on a pair of pants, a T-shirt and ran out the door.

When I got to the beach about 3 minutes later I realized it was really really cold, and really really windy. So I pulled out my camera and went to seek for cover. I found a beach hut that was blocking about 90% of the wind. By this time I saw that the sun was coming up and started to scramble to snap a flik. I pulled out a filter and my shutter release cable and thought about a composition in a matter of seconds. I took one photo from here, and thats what you see here.

To this day this is one of my favorite Miami Beach Sunrise photos of all times.
