London Tower Bridge

London Tower Bridge

I was in London in the summer of 06, and the Tower Bridge stole my heart. I remember sitting there mesmerized by this incredible piece of architecture, I couldn’t stop staring. I remember my friends went into a bar right below the bridge, but I followed about 30 minutes later because I couldn’t lay eyes off of it. I have never forgotten this bridge and I had to go back.

The entire purpose of this trip to London was to photograph The Tower Bridge, the plan was to get there about half hour before sunset and stay well past it. I did just that, the weather was terrible, it kept raining and raining, I was soaked from head to toe and freezing my butt off and after 10 hrs of shooting and walking around London I was a bit tired.

I was hoping for a break in the weather, the clouds were really good but my camera and lens were soaked, I kept wiping my lens down but the rain kept coming destroying every hope I had for a decent shot. Determined to get a good shot I kept walking across the bridge and all around it trying to put the rain behind me so it wouldn’t get my lens wet and ruin any chance at a good photo, and when the rain would slow down for a few I would take a shot or two.

My mom has a photo of this bridge on her wall I took with a point and shoot back in 2006. Every time I see it I would just want to be back there and get a great shot. I think I got what I was looking for… Mom you have a new photo coming for your wall, it can sit next the the old one. I’m not done just yet. I still have future plans to photograph this awesome bridge.

Camera settings: 30 second exposure f/18 ISO50 24mm lens shot about 30 minutes after sunset in the freezing cold on a very rainy day.

London Tower Bridge

About the bridge:
Tower Bridge (built 1886–1894) is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London which crosses the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, from which it takes its name, and has become an iconic symbol of London.” Wikipedia.

The Golden Gate Bridge

One of the most iconic bridges in the world, The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco California. I have shot this bridge so many times and I can’t get enough, it is truly a master piece. Every time I am in SF I make time to go detox on top of this hill and enjoy this work of art. This photos were shot the same night around 1am on my most recent trip to the WestCoast. These are long exposures around 200 seconds each. It was freezing that night, the only thing that made everything warmer was the view of course, the company, my camera, and a beer in hand. Happy Sunday peeps. Spread the love. . .
