Tuscany Italy shot at sunrise

Tuscany Italy shot at sunrise. Have you ever been to Tuscany? If you have not, you need to get to Tuscany ASAP. Even if you are not a photographer you must go. I can’t begin to explain how beautiful it is. And well if you have been there, you know.

I shot this one bright and early in the morning. My alarm went off and I jumped out of bed put on my pants, grabbed my camera and practically ran out the door. As soon as the air hit my face I instantly woke up and just like that, I was on my way to shot the sunrise with a fat grin from ear to ear, like a kid on Christmas morning.

It was a chilly morning, but I did not care, all I wanted was to experience a sunrise in Tuscany Italy. I got to this particular location and I put on my 70-200, threw my camera on a tripod and got shooting. I love the way the sky turned out.

Natural light portraits and how to shoot them

Natural light portraits. When it comes to portrait photography or headshot photography, I love to use strobe lights or constant light, however natural light can be really beautiful when it is used correctly.

When I first started in photography, I actually started doing headshots. I became really good at them and to this day thats how I make a good chunk of my money.

Of course when doing headshots I use 500 watt strove lights, however you can take some incredible photos using nothing but the sun. You can also see an example of these type of photos in my Fine Art Nude site.

As you can see, these portrait is being 100% by the sun, however it is best if you wait until the golden hour. The golden hour happens once the sun starts to go down. Thats when you get that beautiful golden light and the beautiful skin tones come to life. This is the best time to shoot natural light portraits.

Remember that if you want to get blur in the back you have to shoot at f 7.1 or below. If you want to get really nice blur or Bokeh, open up your lens to f 2.8 or the smallest number your lens will go to. This is the best way to get those beautiful natural light portraits.

Vegandale Miami

Vegandale Miami. I just got done shooting Vegandale Miami and it was a blast. There were around 10,000 people at the event, and it was great to see so may people come together to have a great time. I learned that most people are vegans for the love of animals. That is great to see. The entire community is so amazing, and lots of people brought their doggies. As an animal lover my self this was incredible to see.

Vegandale contacted me to do lifestyle photoshoot for them and also to cover their event. I was not sure what to expect, but I must say this was one of the funnest events I have covered. As far as the lifestyle shoot, the models were super fun to work with and the entire team was awesome to work with.

For this shoot I used my Sony camera and a 70-200. I was able to get some really cool shots using this set up and at the same time packing light. I also used a constant LED light at full power to mimic the sun and light up the models just right. You can see the light was put about 6 feet to my right hand side to cast a really nice light over the models and the set.

I can not wait for next year to cover Vegandale again. The most loving group of people gathered together for one great cause under one roof. Is about the food, about the cause, and of course, it is about the people. If you get a chance to visit Vegandale, I highly suggest you do. Its fun and they have great food too :)

United States Air Force Thunderbirds

United States Air Force Thunderbirds. Here is a series I did of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. I have watched the Blue Angels fly but for some reason I like the Thunderbirds. Have you even seen them fly? It’s something to watch for sure.

They come out of nowhere in full force aligned perfectly next to each other with inches to spear. The ability to fly one of these is incredible let alone flying next to another 5 with inches to spear.

I did this series in B&W with a bit of grain because it just called for it. I can hear the F16s roaring through the skies when I peek at these photos.
I shot these photos with a 150-600 MM lens and my Nikon D850. You can see the photos in full resolution here.
What’s your favorite photo? Can you guess what mine is? Event though I like them all, I do have a favorite :)

Have you ever photographed air shows? They can be a lot of fun and very challenging especially if you do not know what you are doing. I suggest shooting at 1/8000 of a second at a wide open F-stop then you can adjust your ISO accordingly. This way you can be sure to freeze the planes in mid air.

Some people would say to use a monopod as a zoom lens can get really heavy, however I suggest to hand hold your camera, these F16s go so fast, you might miss the action wrestling around with your monopod. Just shoot as you need and put your camera down. This way you will have a better chance of getting the shots you really want.

My next shoot of planes will be with the Blue Angels, I just have to check their schedule and follow them around. It would also be incredible to shoot them both at the same time. It’s always nice to watch them all in perfect coordination. After all we are all in the same team.

Happy shooting friends :)
