I shot this photos one week before Hurricane Irma hit Naples Florida. We had no idea the devastation that Hurricane Irma would leave, we knew it was coming, but we did not know it was going to hit the West Coast of Florida.
I have been to Naples million time, however, this time felt different, it felt special. The day started by riding airboats in the Everglades national park, and it ended up at the beautiful Naples Pier.
The photography gods were with us that evening, making sure we captured the perfect sunset before the hurricane hit.
Here is another insane sunset at Naples Florida, I know I know what can I say I just love Naples, it is such a cool spot, specially since its in the West Coast of Florida. Remember I am in the East Coast, so sunsets are kind of special since we are always shooting the sunrises around here. This was particularly special because we almost missed it. I mean we were speeding to get there (we got side tracked at the Everglades followed by Pizza and beer). We got there on time and were greeted by an amazingly pink and colorful sunset.
The sunset gods where with us this particular day… Which one do you like better?
As I was taking a long exposure watching the beautiful sunset out of the corner of my eye I saw this little girl running towards me. For a second I thought she was going to knock over my camera, fortunately nothing happened, she simply wanted to play in the sand. I took one more click to get her in the picture, lucky for me I did just that.
I love the contrast of her pink dress. Sometimes things like this happen and you must capitalize on it.
I shot this a few years back in Naples Florida, and believe it or not it is still one of my favorite photos. I really like going to the West Coast of Florida, it is much more relaxed over there and a lot more peaceful. I often go there to get away from the noise, and ofcouse to take some beautiful sunset photos. You can see my Naples Gallery here.
Every time I get the chance to go to the West Coast of Florida to shoot the sunset I take it. This is one of my favorite spots on the coast, it is Naples pier. It is an really cool place to photograph of just watch the sunset.
I can’t think of a time when I shot a bad photo here. This was on a very overcast day, it looked like it was going to start pouring, so everyone left the beach. I had the entire place to my self, it was perfect.
I shot this with a 14-24mm Lens here are my settings:
244 seconds at f/22 ISO 50 on my Nikon D800 (no filters)
