Landscape photography can be very unpredictable. You can be prepared, have all the right gear, scout the location for days sometimes even moths, and when you get there, the elements do not cooperate. This can also happen the same exact opposite way.
This is what I love about landscape photography, it is so challenging at times that it will test your patience and your skill, but when it comes together just right, all the failures go out the window.
This particular day as soon as the sun started to set, the sky just lit up orange, it was perfect, I felt like I was in another planet, I mean everything had this incredible orange glow to it. At that point all I had to do was press the shutter.
I shot all this photos from this particular location:
The Avalon, otherwise recognized by the awesome car parked outside of it. There are a few hotels with cool cars in front of them but to me this one is the coolest. I have done may shoots here, from musicians to workshops, and it just never gets old.
A must if you are visiting Miami Beach. Below is a map of the exact location.
What do you know about a Yacht Party? I knew nothing about it until this past 4th of July. Let me tell you it was epic. I have been on this insane things before, however I am always working. This time I was a guest, and let me tell you what a day I had.
This was so much fun, just being out with a few amazing people hanging out in the open water. We jumped off the boat, we danced, we sang, it was just perfect. I had such a blast and I am very grateful I was able to experience this awesomeness.
Massive thank you to Gabby and Fred for the incredible day on the boat.
I hate it when I get stuck in a funk, but as an artist you must fight through and get out of it. This doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it can be really frustrating, you just have to remember to push through it and get the job done.
This was happening to me over the weekend, however persistence paid off. This is such a great spot to photograph, but for some reason I could not find my grove.
I kept pushing through until I finally got a decent shot. Here are the results. Check out the vid to see the how frustrated I was and what led up to finally capturing this shot.
I shoot here often, it is very convenient being that is right behind my house and also it a beautiful spot to shoot from. I mean you have the Miami skyline, the bay, and all this awesome little boats, it almost feels like a movie.
I walk here every morning when I take chula out for a walk and I have learned to carry my camera. The views are always spectacular and the light always looks good, specially right after sunrise when you have that morning golden glow.
