However, Brooklyn is just across the East River and is just as cool. There is so much art, culture, beautiful buildings, and of course the best photography spots in Brooklyn face the Manhattan skyline. Really when you think about it, you need to be in Brooklyn to photograph Manhattan.

1. Pier One Playground. The views from this place are epic. You have incredible views of Manhattan. Look at those reflections. Gear I for this location s a tripod and a wide-angle lens. Best time to shoot is at sunrise or at night.
2. The Brooklyn Bridge. What can I say, make sure you bring a wide angle lens and a tripod. Best time to shoot is at night. Fewer people and more lights.
3. Brooklyn Bridge Lookout. This place has epic views of the entire Manhattan skyline. Best time to shoot is at sunset. Always bring a tripod and an array of lenses. I like my 14-24mm for this one. Below are 3 different angles.
4. Dumbo. This place is epic, there is always lots of people here so you have to get crafty with your shots. Best time to come is at sunset. 5. Main Street Park. This is the Manhattan Bridge shot from the main street park. Best time to shoot is at night. Bring a tripod and a wide.
6. The Old Bakery Building. This is the rooftop of the Old Bakery Building. You have epic 360 degrees views from there. I used my Nikon 70-200. The two photos below are shot with the same lens looking different directions.
7. Old Pier One. This is a great spot to shoot at sunset. Its located south of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Tripod and a wide are a must. 8. The River Cafe. I love this place, they have good food too. Bring a tripod and come at night, you will love it.
9. Empire Fulton Ferry State Park. This park is massive with lots of things to shoot. Bring your “A” game and get ready to shoot. Below are 2 different images of this epic park.
10. Jane’s Carousel. This carousel looks so cool with the buildings in the background. However, I oped to do a bit of street photography here. What are the best photography spots in New York City? This is a question I often answer. I spend a lot of time photographing the streets of New York City. What can I say I love this place. New York City is one of the most incredible cities in the world.
I created the best photography spots in New York City photography guide to save you some headaches. I love to explore and find new places to photograph. However, I also love to share.

To this day when I visit the city, I still visit most of these spots. After all, they are the best photography spots in New York City. Don’t forget to come by and check out my New York City Photo gallery.
THE GEAR
The gear I used for all my photos: Nikon D800 with a Nikon 14-24mm and a Nikon 24-85mm. A MeFOTO tripod and a wide-angle is a must. I edit all my images with my Lightroom Presets download them and give them a try.
Best Photography Spots in New York City
1. Times Square. This is where all the action happens. Best time to shoot is at night. Gear recommended is a Wide Angle Lens and a Tripod.
2. Grand Central Station. This place is stunning, there are a couple spots to shoot from, however, the top of the stairs is always great. There are no big tripods allowed, however, this baby tripod is.
3. Central Park. Central Park is just amazing, the best time to shoot is at night, there are fewer people. I recommend a Wide Angle Lens and a Tripod. 4. Dumbo. This is a busy place, however, it is a must when visiting NYC. Make sure you bring a Tripod and gloves. The best time to shoot is at dusk.
5. Rockefeller Center. This is the top of the Rock. Where you can get epic 360-degree views. The best view is facing south where you can see the Empire State Building. Best time to come is sunset. I recommend a baby tripod and a 70-200 mm and a wide angle lens.
6. Flat Iron Building. This is one of my favorite buildings in the world. Best time to photograph is at night. Make sure you bring a tripod.

7. Empire State Building. The Empire State Building. This place is epic. Make sure you go all the way to the top and look down. Best time to shoot is at sunset and at night.
8. The Subway. If you are into street photography this is a must. The subway is such a cool place to people watch and to get epic photos. Anytime is a great time to come.
9. Brooklyn Bridge. It’s the Brooklyn Bridge, enough said. Best time to come is at night. Bring a Tripod and some clothes.
10. Empire Fulton Ferry State Park. This park is massive and you can see lots of different angles of the New York City Skyline. Best time to come is at night. I recommend a Wide Angle Lens and a Tripod.
11. Brooklyn Bridge Lookout. This is on the south side of the bridge and it is a really great place to catch the sunrise. Bring a Wide Angle Lens and a Tripod.
12. World Trade Center. The architecture here is just spectacular. A must when you are in New York City.
13. Battery Park. You can’t leave New York without checking out the Statue of LIvery. Even if it’s from the far. Come to Battery Park to get the best views of the Statue of Liberty. Bring a tripod and a 70-200 mm and a wide angle lens.
14. Pier 15 East River. This pier has epic views of the Brooklyn skyline. Best time to shoot is at dusk or at night. A zoom lens and a tripod are a must.

Photography Courses
I will try to focus on topics where I used to struggle when I was starting out. The advantage of teaching workshops is that I get to see first hand and ask what people struggle with the most. Where is the famous shipwreck beach in Greece? Let me tell you how I got there. I took a 16-hour plane ride to Istanbul from there, I jumped on a plane to Athens, that was a quick 2-hour flight. From Athens, I rented a car and headed to Port Kilini, that took 6 hours but I got pulled over and got a pricey speeding ticket, add one more hour to the trip.
From Port Killini, I took a ferry to the island of Zakynthos that took about 1.5 hours. Upon my arrival at the port of Zakynthos, I had to pee really bad, so I stopped and used the bathroom. After my much-needed pee break, I purchased a Coke from a local store so I wouldn’t fall asleep. I started driving to Navagio, that was about 1.5 hours. I pulled over, jumped out of the car and hiked for about 30 minutes.
Finally, I laid eyes on this incredible place and watched the sunset over the Ionian Sea. A must on anyone’s bucket list. It is a far travel for me, however, when you see the shipwreck beach in Greece with your own eyes, it makes it all worth it. I am not sure if there is a faster way to get there, however, I am ok with the long way. Making all those memories and taking loads of photos along the way is the icing on the cake.
