Fishing at the Pier

Living on the water is awesome for me. There is always something going on, from people surfing to fishing and everything in-between.

This is the South Pointe Fishing Pier in Miami Beach Florida. I was actually standing on the pier and when I looked down I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. This guy kept throwing his fishing net and for a photographer thats eye candy.

I kept shooting with my focus point on him and as soon as he threw the net I would take 2-3 shots.

Miami Beach Sunrise This Morning

Here is my favorite from todays Miami Beach Photography Workshop. I love doing this workshops they are so much fun. Loads of awesome photographers always show up and I end up making lifetime friends with most of them. It’s amazing how this has changed my life. Everyone learns awesome techniques and there is nothing better then photography talk with this view at six in the morning.

Below is the edit of the photo, even though I can’t shoot a lot when I’m teaching, I always try to sneak one or two photos in :)

Mark Cuban’s Yacht

I shot this in Miami, I was actually on my way home and decided to make one last stop at this amazing new port for massive yachts. I took a couple photos and then I left. A couple days later one of my friends told me that this was Mark Cuban’s Yacht. You know Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks.

After doing some research it turns out my friend was right. Let me tell you this thing is awesome. This 288-foot yacht has a basketball court on the stern. Lets just say Mark Cuban rolls in style specially in open water.

Miami Beach 24 St Lifeguard Tower

Here is one of the coolest lifeguard towers in Miami Beach. This one is rather new but its a bit hard to shoot. There is not a lot of space between you and the tower, and the tower and the ocean you you really have to get creative to shoot it. Its located on 24st and super easy to find.

Its so nice being here in the morning when there is nobody around. The ocean breeze and the calm waives always make a perfect start of the day. I teach sunrise workshops if you are ever in Miami check out my schedule in this link.

What I love about my workshops

One thing that I have learned about my workshops is how much I love to share what I have learned over the years with other people. I’m a big fan of workshops and have taken them with all kinds of phtographers. I believe this is the best way to learn, not only do you meet amzing people with your same interests but, you also get to pick their brain and learn a lot from them in a short amout of time.

Its not until I stared teaching that I realized teaching is just as much about learning than it is about teaching. When I am involved with this small gorups of photogrpahers we are able to share ideas and knoledge and it goes both ways. I am very greatful to be lucky enough to get this oportunity. What is also amazing is that I often get to see the same faces in the different workshops that I do.

Its alwyas great when people leave with a grin on their face. This moments are so special to me as a landscape photogrpaer and sharing it with others is something even more incredible. Thank you to everyone that comes out to my workshops and supports me throughout. Here is a photo from this weekends Sunrise Workshop. It has become very popular and very meaningful to me. Even if I’m not teaching you can find me here year round catching an amzing sunrise by my self.

When I showed up to the beach to shoot the sunrise you won’t believe what I found

At first this event sounded like a good idea, perhaps if you are young and like to party this could be for you. I personally do not like large crowds and rather spend time on the beach alone or with a close group of friends.

This event is called Floatopia and its supposed to raise awareness about painting the beaches clean and pollution. Let me tell you it did just the opposite.

Here is a video and some aerial photos of the actual party. 100,000+ people showed up.

What do you think? Crazy right how we can just destroy our own planet.

I felt compelled to make this videos and take this photos in order to create awareness. We must stop this madness and take care of the planet we live in.
