This photo is a tragic one. I happened to be out there on the morning of September 25 2016, this was the morning where Miami Marlins Pitcher passed away in a boat accident in Miami Beach. This happened on Government Cut close to the Jetty.
This particular morning I headed out that way (to the Jetty) to shoot the sunrise, however I changed my mind last minute and decide to go up to the rocks on 35th street. I arrived there around 5:45am I could see in the distance lots of emergency lights, I thought to my self it must be a drug bust.
I learned later that morning what had happened, I shot a few frames of the place simply trying to capture some lighting, to my surprise this lighting bolt hit exactly where the accident happened during the accident clean up. Kind of weird… My heart goes out to Jose’s family and of course the Miami Marlins family. I was privileged enough to have seen him pitch a few games and also to stand on that pitching mound an pitch an opening game.
Rise and shine world. Woke up at 3 am watched some Netflix, got up at 5 and shot the sunrise, went to Brickell Key and got kicked out by security, did not leave, got kicked out again, didn’t listen, the cops came, they tried to kick me out and I didn’t listen after going back and forth, we finally agreed I could shoot from the sidewalk, stuck around a bit longer. Got home at 2 pm with some good stuff. Thats how my day went yesterday. Why do cops and security guards constantly harass photographers? You know they look at all this cool flicks on line when they are surfing the web. Chill out guys were just taking pictures. Quit being so so lame…
I forgot to mention I crashed my drone at some point. The drone is ok, just some grass marks…
This Halloween looks so much different then any other year for me. My baby boy passed away early this year and its going to be weird without him, that being said, it is going to be an amazing one and one to remember. This is what Halloween looks like on the beaches of Miami.
This was truly an epic sunrise, and even though I lost both of my boys, I know they are still with me everywhere I go. Thats what I think about when I’m out and about shooting this epic scenery.
I hate to talk about politics, but this is the most important election of our lives. I beg every American to vote, we have a lunatic on the ballot and he must be stopped. I shot this to show that America is very much great and the American dream is very much alive.
About the picture. This is a long exposure shot with a 10 stop ND Filter. I have also included a video of the edit.
Here is a short vid I put together while doing a live broadcast on my Facebook page. I do this often so subscribe and come join the fun. Here is my favorite photo from this day.
There is nothing better then en epic sunrise. I was ready to go, I have been shooting the sunrise every morning for about 3 weeks in a row now, its nice but I had not seen an epic one for a while. Then this happened. OMG I had the fastest grin on my face, it was so good. I love it when everything comes together just right, makes me very lucky to have witnessed this and now I can share it with you guys.
