What a great way to kick off the year. Here is a time-lapse of the Miami Sunset. I shot this last week during a live feed on my facebook page. I do these things often so if you want to join and watch live and ask questions, tune in here. I do at least one a week.
Lets get the year started the right way and get together for the first sunset of 2017.
We will meet at Maurice Gibb Memorial Park in Miami Beach and shoot the sunset. There is plenty of parking.
The sunset is at 5:41PM so lets meet at 5 O’clock to get set up and chat.
This is completely FREE so bring your friends and family and just hang out. If you do not have a fancy camera, cell phones are ok. The sunsets are amazing here.
Yesterdays post was about perspective, this one is no different. I shot this with a DJI Phantom 3 and as you can see this boat looks completely different then it would as if I shot it form the ground. I added the parking lot to break up the photo a bit and give your eyes a place to wonder to, but if you look at the image you can see that your eyes always come back tot the sail boat. I shot it from the sky looking down, but I made sure to be off center to use the lines to invite the viewer into the image.
The reason I live in Miami is because of the weather. It is always beautiful here. Sure we get some rainy days but hey 90% of the time is sunny, warm and beautiful. I think this picture translates that very well. I wanted to get the boat cruising by in motion to create a sense of movement in the photo, while the sail ship in the back is perfectly still surrounded by birds.
Here is a photo of the Carnival Sensation going out to sea during sunset. I love watching the ships leave the port, they all leave one after the other and its awasome to wacth. They usually start leaving around 5pm and there are about 5-6 that leave. I usually watch them from South Point Park. It is awesome. If you are ever in Miami Beach, I highly recommend you go watch them.
In my opinion street photography is one of the hardest forms of the art. It is scary out on the streets, not only that but you have to be like a ninja and have some big balls. I sometimes go out and shoot street, it tests all my senses and helps me understand a bit more about the world. I think this is the best way to sharpen your photography skills no matter what kind of photographer you are.
