Bok Tower Lake Wales

I have heard about this place for years now, and I have always wanted to make it up here. Yes I said up here for 2 reasons, 1. it is north of Miami (about four hours) and 2. It is one of the highest points of peninsular Florida, estimated to be 295 feet above sea level, that’s really high for Florida :)

Bok Tower Gardens is an incredible place, as soon as you enter this place you feel like you are in a dream, in some sort of magical place. Let me tell you that you are. I started walking toward the tower and was immediately surrounded by greenery, massive trees and beautiful flowers. Something came over me and I felt this sense of piece, a very spiritual experience. It took a while to take it all in when all the sudden the music started. That’s right music coming from the tower, it was crazy (in a good way). The music coming from the tower is some sort of fairy-tale tune, and you feel like you are in one. The music plays every half hour and once you hear it for the first time, you are always waiting for it from that point on.

I’m really lucky this place is so close to home, it goes to show you that there are hidden treasures all over the place, you just have to go look for them. The Bok Tower is one of Florida’s hidden little secrets. If you want to experience it with me, I am doing 2 workshops there in June, click on this link for more details.

If you are not from around here and visit Florida some day, I highly suggest you come the the Bok Tower Gardens, it is a must see and you will be happy you did. Below are some photos of this magical place.

CAPTURE THE EVERGLADES AN INCREDIBLE JOURNEY

When I started this incredible journey I never thought it would become what it is today.

I first started coming to the Everglades 6 years ago when I first moved to South Florida, and I quickly fell in love with it.

I started photographing it, and quickly realized that this place was very challenging to photograph, but nonetheless it was incredible being out there. I wanted to share this experience with everyone I knew, so I started bringing my friends and family. They all would always smile at the incredible wildlife and sunsets.

I wanted to create an experience where I show people the Everglades from a locals eyes, and cover most of the Southern Part, (the coolest places) and at the same time teach them how to capture it through a lens. I also want to make sure to have people at the perfect spots at the right time. I have been trying to dial this in and I think my self and my team have it down pretty good.

I also wanted to create a sense of community and make everyone feel like family, were we are all friends, and it is amazing how within 20 minutes everyone feels like they are hanging out with their best friends.

The greatest thing about the workshops I do is that people come in as strangers and leave as friends. These awesome adventures bring people close together and the goodbye hug is always bittersweet… This images are form the last Everglades workshop of the season. Do not worry, I am currently working on the new schedule click on this link to register.

Everglades Park

There is something magical about the Everglades, and as I often do, I headed out to the Everglades last weekend. This is the time of year to go, the weather is cool (not as hot I should say) and the mosquitos are not too bad.

Once I got there I realized that there was no clouds, so I headed to my favorite spot and waited until the sun had set, once it started to get dark the clouds started coming. It was perfect, I put my camera on bulb mode and started shooting.

By the way I have a Capturing the Everglades Workshop coming up, you should come join me.

Here are a few favorites from the other day.

Miami Sunset from the Sky

Here is an incredible sunset over the Miami skyline. I was out flying my drone this particular day, and all of a sudden all of the elements came together. The sun was perfectly sitting over the road giving me enough time to set up my shot and snap the flick before fading into the night.

Tropical Park from the Air

Tropical Park is located in Miami Florida, it is a beautiful park full of massive green trees, tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, and an amazing new track and football field. I shot this yesterday right after sunset. The clouds looked crazy, I thought it was going to rain, but lucky for me it never did.

I ended up flying well past sunset, the views just kept getting better and better and I just couldn’t stop. I ended up flying for an hour or so and burned through five batteries. It was perfect, the photos are the icing on the cake.

Horseshoe Bend Page Arizona

Horseshoe Bend Page Arizona

Here is one of the famous Horseshoe Bend in Page Arizona. I have seen so many photos of this place and have been wanting to shoot it, but I really wanted to get a different perspective, so I flew over it and shot this from the air.

We spend the night in an RV on the parking lot and woke up bright and early for sunrise. It was awesome and worth the early rise. Shortly after we headed to Antelope Canyon.
