Bikinis

Bikinis at the beach. It was quite hot this particular day and for some reason I was wearing jeans. I only stayed at the beach for half hr before I started to overheat. In this photo you can see this girls had the right idea.

Long Exposure at the Everglades

I had a workshop out at the Everglades on Saturday and it was so much fun. It was the first time I use an 10 stop ND filter out there. We stayed in this particular spot for about 2 hours and this was my favorite shot of the day. It was shot at 81 seconds F22 and ISO 31 (the lowest the Nikon 810 goes) and I managed to capture the clouds just right. I love the way they create a notion of movement, making the photo three dimensional.

I also used the walkway as my leading lines to invite the viewer into the photo creating a this dreamy effect in the horizon.

Episode 87 How to edit a beautiful sunset shot at Lake Tahoe

In this video I will show you to edit this beautiful sunset. As always I expose for the brightest part of the image to avoid blowing it out, then in post, I start brining this image to life by using local adjustments as well as global adjustments.

Brooklyn bridge for Infinity and Beyond

Here is a photo I have never published before, anywhere. This was right below the Brookling bridge on my way home one night. It was cold and my feet were wet, but I could not stop shooting. This sculpture graved my attention and I count not make out what it was, until a lightbulb when on… Its the infinity symbol. I love the contrast of the color against the blue sky.

Lady Liberty

I am currently packing to head out to lead my NYC Photography Workshop, I am scheduling a couple posts because I will be so busy in NYC I probably wont have time to do anything except take pictures. Hey nothing wrong with that. By the time I get back this will just be posting.

I shot this las January on a very, very cold day. It was awesome because I was with some great friends and have some really nice memories. I remember we were walking all day and it did not end here, we still managed to cross the Brooklyn bridge after. Let me just say everyone was hungry, cold and ready for bed after. (I can’t believe its almost been a year already)

This is the statue of Liberty in NYC. I shot it with a 70-200 Here are my settings:

Sunset by the Pier

As I was taking a long exposure watching the beautiful sunset out of the corner of my eye I saw this little girl running towards me. For a second I thought she was going to knock over my camera, fortunately nothing happened, she simply wanted to play in the sand. I took one more click to get her in the picture, lucky for me I did just that.

I love the contrast of her pink dress. Sometimes things like this happen and you must capitalize on it.
