Sunrise with Friends

One of the best things about photography is sharing the special moment with my friends. This morning was no different, my friends and I decided to go out Saturday morning and shoot the sunrise at this particular spot.

Unlike the west coast, we do not have any cliffs or rocks or anything in the water, our landscapes are really plain. Plain is not bad it is beautiful in its own right, however, it can get boring at times.

This particular spot has this concrete pillars sticking out of the water, and that makes for some awesome compositions. That is the reason why we like this spot so much. There are not many like this in Miami.

Check out the video for bts footage.

Summer at the Everglades National Park

I love the Everglades, I mean I really, really like going out there. However it is summer, and that means wet season, and unfortunately the mosquitos are insane out there, almost unbearable.

People always ask me when the best time to go to the Everglades is, and my answer is always the same. If you want to get really good photos go there in the summer time. If you want to enjoy the Everglades, go there in the winter time.

No mater what time of the year you go, one thing is for sure, you will be glad you did. The swamp will change you, it is a beautiful place, something you only read in good books…

Stuck in a Funk

I hate it when I get stuck in a funk, but as an artist you must fight through and get out of it. This doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it can be really frustrating, you just have to remember to push through it and get the job done.

This was happening to me over the weekend, however persistence paid off. This is such a great spot to photograph, but for some reason I could not find my grove.

I kept pushing through until I finally got a decent shot. Here are the results. Check out the vid to see the how frustrated I was and what led up to finally capturing this shot.

This place never gets old

I shoot here often, it is very convenient being that is right behind my house and also it a beautiful spot to shoot from. I mean you have the Miami skyline, the bay, and all this awesome little boats, it almost feels like a movie.

I walk here every morning when I take chula out for a walk and I have learned to carry my camera. The views are always spectacular and the light always looks good, specially right after sunrise when you have that morning golden glow.

You can see the exact spot on my Miami top ten list.

Sunsets are my favorite

No matter how bad my day is, I can always count on a sunset making it better. Im not sure why I’m so attracted to sunrises and sunsets but I love them the same. I shot this picture at the Old Bridge in Key West Florida. The entire purpose of the trip was to get the sun setting right between the old broken bridge.
