I really love the Miami skyline. I think is one of the most beautiful in the states, possibly even the world.
I love the action always happening on the bay, its like a casino during peek hours. There are boats in and out along with crew ships and there is something always going on.
I shot this right before sunset with a massive grin on my face…
As the sun starts to set, this incredible Carnival Cruise Ship leaves the port of Miami. Its such a site to see, like an elephant marching into the wild. This site never gets old. The Miami port is aways ready for departure with new adventures in the open sea.
The reason I live in Miami is because of the weather. It is always beautiful here. Sure we get some rainy days but hey 90% of the time is sunny, warm and beautiful. I think this picture translates that very well. I wanted to get the boat cruising by in motion to create a sense of movement in the photo, while the sail ship in the back is perfectly still surrounded by birds.

Here is a photo of the Carnival Sensation going out to sea during sunset. I love watching the ships leave the port, they all leave one after the other and its awasome to wacth. They usually start leaving around 5pm and there are about 5-6 that leave. I usually watch them from South Point Park. It is awesome. If you are ever in Miami Beach, I highly recommend you go watch them.
I shot these pictures a couple days ago, and the wind was insane. I should not of been flying. This is the windiest I have ever flown before. I certainly put the DJI Phantom 3 to the test. The winds were 20 MPH and going against the wind ate up all my battery cutting the flight time in half.
I took a chance and put the drone in the air and did mainly video, but I did sneak in some pictures. I always find it difficult to focus on both, video and pictures. I have come to the conclusion that I need to pick one or the other when I’m out there, if not I do not do a good job on the photos or the video.
