Happy Thursday. I can’t believe this week is almost done. Not sure if you have heard about the Miami Marine Stadium, well this is it. I come here often. This place serves as a great canvas for any kind of photo shoot you can imagine. It also serves as a place to come chill and meet like minded people expressing them selves in their own ways. Its crazy every time I come here I walk away with new friends, new photographs and amazing experiences. I took this photo from about 30 feet high as you ca see from the pic I was rather close to the edge (you can see in the video how high up I was). There is also access to the roof from where Im standing were you can find your local skaters tearing it up…
History
The 6,566 seat stadium was built in 1963 on land donated for “water sports,” and designed by architect Hilario Candela, then-a 28-year-old recent immigrant from Cuba. It was dedicated as the Ralph Munroe Marine Stadium opened, completed at a cost of around $2 million ($15.2 million, adjusted for current inflation). A speed boat racer, James Tapp, was killed on opening day. The venue, located just south of Downtown Miami, was revered for its scenic views of Downtown and Miami Beach, hosting motorboat events, and events featuring the likes of Mitch Miller, Sammy Davis, Jr., and U.S. President Richard Nixon (whose seasonal winter residence, dubbed “the Florida White House,” was on nearby Key Biscayne).
From its opening for nearly 30 years, the stadium was used for its intended “water sports” as well as concerts, sporting events such as boxing, which began in 1972. In the wake of Hurricane Andrew, it was declared an unsafe building under Miami-Dade County building code on September 18, 1992. In 2004, $3,000,000 was pledged in a municipal bonds by county residents for the restoration and renovation of the facilities. Wikipedia

Top of the morning to all my people. What a crazy weekend, I wanted to relax and take it ez but the camera never left my hands, I love it.
Here is a photo I shot a few nights ago walking around the streets of Miami. The way to capture this sort of photo is to slow down your shutter speed and pan while focussed on the subject. I spotted this bicycle about 30 feet away so I had to be fast and so I snapped 3 photos while panning, this is the one that made it here.

I shot this a few months back at an art walk (I love art walks) here in Miami at the Wynwood Art District. This kid was shooting photos of his parents and I couldn’t help my self to take some pix of him. They were having such a great time together. This is one of my favorite photos of all times…. What a crazy Monday here in Miami. It all started with a text last night, next thing you know I am stuck in bumper to bumper trafic trying to get down town to shoot the Miami Heat parade 2012. What made everything really bad was that I really had to pee but I couldn’t because I would miss the thing.
Finally I made my way to a parking spot miles away, then I jumped in the people mover and it was worse than the traffic I had just escaped. Anyhow, here are some photos of what took place this morning from the people mover to the walk back to my car in sequential order… and no I didn’t get to pee the entire time…. Its Sunday funday peeps, whats on your agenda for today? The weather is crappy here so its a coffe and editing day for me. Check out The Enigma, I went to a tattoo convention yesterday and got to meet this dude and lots of other cool peeps. He puts on a pretty cool show with knives, chainsaws, hooks, apples, lights, all kinds of craziness. Hes a little crazy but really cool and funny dude… The Enigma Rocks!
