Tuscany Italy shot at sunrise

Tuscany Italy shot at sunrise. Have you ever been to Tuscany? If you have not, you need to get to Tuscany ASAP. Even if you are not a photographer you must go. I can’t begin to explain how beautiful it is. And well if you have been there, you know.

I shot this one bright and early in the morning. My alarm went off and I jumped out of bed put on my pants, grabbed my camera and practically ran out the door. As soon as the air hit my face I instantly woke up and just like that, I was on my way to shot the sunrise with a fat grin from ear to ear, like a kid on Christmas morning.

It was a chilly morning, but I did not care, all I wanted was to experience a sunrise in Tuscany Italy. I got to this particular location and I put on my 70-200, threw my camera on a tripod and got shooting. I love the way the sky turned out.

I edited this photo with my Lightroom Presets. Download them and give them a shot.

Best Camera Settings For Landscape Photography

What are the best camera settings for landscape photography? This is a question often asked by people just getting into landscape photography. This is a hard question to answer as there are not “perfect” settings.

That is the beauty of shooting in manual mode, you can completely control your camera, therefore you can control the entire scene. These settings are a good starting point for anyone that is into landscape photography and does not know where to start. I live by these settings and when in doubt, this is where I go.

How I came up with the best camera settings for landscape photography was by pure trial and error. The more I experiment with the light, the elements and my camera settings, the more I come back to these particular settings.

These settings will get you started on the right foot. If you have ever wondered what the best camera settings for landscape photography are, then this video will clear things up. Always remember to experiment and think outside the box. Imagine the photo before clicking the shutter and try to put that image on film. (digital now a days)

Bok Tower Lake Wales

I have heard about this place for years now, and I have always wanted to make it up here. Yes I said up here for 2 reasons, 1. it is north of Miami (about four hours) and 2. It is one of the highest points of peninsular Florida, estimated to be 295 feet above sea level, that’s really high for Florida :)

Bok Tower Gardens is an incredible place, as soon as you enter this place you feel like you are in a dream, in some sort of magical place. Let me tell you that you are. I started walking toward the tower and was immediately surrounded by greenery, massive trees and beautiful flowers. Something came over me and I felt this sense of piece, a very spiritual experience. It took a while to take it all in when all the sudden the music started. That’s right music coming from the tower, it was crazy (in a good way). The music coming from the tower is some sort of fairy-tale tune, and you feel like you are in one. The music plays every half hour and once you hear it for the first time, you are always waiting for it from that point on.

I’m really lucky this place is so close to home, it goes to show you that there are hidden treasures all over the place, you just have to go look for them. The Bok Tower is one of Florida’s hidden little secrets. If you want to experience it with me, I am doing 2 workshops there in June, click on this link for more details.

If you are not from around here and visit Florida some day, I highly suggest you come the the Bok Tower Gardens, it is a must see and you will be happy you did. Below are some photos of this magical place.
