Eagle Falls Lake Tahoe

Eagle Falls Lake Tahoe.

I have fond memories of this place watching the sunrise with my beautiful mother. A must for anyone that visits Lake Tahoe California, a beautiful drive coming from any direction.

The Eagle Falls are located in the Sierra Nevada, within Emerald Bay State Park, on the western shore of Lake Tahoe, California.

This place is known for its incredible views of Emerald Bay and Fannette Island. Located right off HWY 89 and super easy to get to.

The sun rises on the East making this a perfect location to watch and shoot the sunrise. If you can only make here during the day time, don’t worry its just as mind-blowing.

Make sure you bring a tripod and a wide-angle lens. Also bring a coat and a nice pair of boots as it can be very icy on the rocks. Also make sure you walk around the place to get some other incredible views and photos. Coffee is highly recommended.

Bonsai Rock Lake Tahoe

Bonsai Rock Lake Tahoe

Yesterday I posted a photo of this same exact place on my Facebook. This is the famous Bonsai Rock in Lake Tahoe. It’s exactly a mile South from Sand Harbor Beach on the Nevada side, very easy to get to if you ever want to go there. (There is 2 pull outs on the side of the road, one dirt and one asphalt if you get to the asphalt one you went to far, Park on the dirt one)

Yesterday I went down there and waited patiently for the sunset, to be fair it was breath taking and I had an incredible time, but from a photographers perspective I knew there could be a better shot.

Today was the day. I woke up and I had an itch about going back. I kept looking at the sky and the clouds looked kind of funky, nothing too exiting but there was the possibility of awesomeness in the making. I kept going back and forth in my head about going back to shoot the sunset once again, I finally said fuck it and headed back to Bonsai Rock. (its about an hour from where Im at right now)

When I got there this is what I saw, an epic sunset over the lake. Its moments like this I live for and today paid off. Not only that but I met two other really cool photographers, we all had big fat grins watching magic happen right in front of us.  I get a kick that other people get a kick from what I get a kick from :)
