Everglades National Park

What a great time I had on my last Everglades workshop, it was full of laughs and the weather was perfect. I did manage to drop my cap in a crazy spot, but I did end up recovering it. You can watch the video of the madness. I have one last Everglades workshop for the season, its always nice ending up the season with a bang. I hope you can make it.

Here are my favorite pictures from that day.

Where is the Z tree in the Everglades National Park

This is the most asked question I get. Where is the Z tree in the Everglades National Park? I am going to tell you right now. This is one of my favorite stops and it’s a place we visit often. This tree is exactly 2 miles on the left-hand side of the road if you are headed South from the Pa-hay-okee entrance. Once you get to the Pa-hay-okee sign reset your odometer and go exactly 2 miles.

Where is the Z tree in the Everglades National Park Located?

The tree is hard to see when you are driving but when you stop and look right at exactly 2 miles, it will be right in front of your face. The tree is next to the road and very easy to get to and photograph, the only thing is that the conditions have to be right. If you go during the winter it will be surrounded by water, however, if you go during the summer, you will have full access to it.

When is the best time to shoot the Z tree?

The best time to photograph the Z tree is during sunrise or sunset. I prefer sunrise as the sun usually lines up with the tree if you face east. If you look at the last photograph in this post, it was shot in the middle of the day. It does not have the same look and feel as the other ones. Just with anything photography related, it is all about timing and good conditions. Lighting is everything.

The gear I used to shoot the Z tree was a Nikon D800 with my Nikon 14-24mm. All images except the last one were shot during sunrise.

So there you have it, that’s where the famous Z tree at the Everglades National Park is located. Go check it out and have fun out there. If this was helpful to you, please leave me a comment below. That’s the best compliment I can get.Z tree at the Everglades National Park

Epic Landscapes

Epic landscapes is what you will see and experience out at the Everglades. I love being out here, for starters cell phone service is non existent, that in itself is worth the trip.

You can experience this and more at one of my Everglades photography workshops and torus. I have scouted out this place to take you to the most epic places out here at the best times of the day to get the perfect shots.

CAPTURE THE EVERGLADES AN INCREDIBLE JOURNEY

When I started this incredible journey I never thought it would become what it is today.

I first started coming to the Everglades 6 years ago when I first moved to South Florida, and I quickly fell in love with it.

I started photographing it, and quickly realized that this place was very challenging to photograph, but nonetheless it was incredible being out there. I wanted to share this experience with everyone I knew, so I started bringing my friends and family. They all would always smile at the incredible wildlife and sunsets.

I wanted to create an experience where I show people the Everglades from a locals eyes, and cover most of the Southern Part, (the coolest places) and at the same time teach them how to capture it through a lens. I also want to make sure to have people at the perfect spots at the right time. I have been trying to dial this in and I think my self and my team have it down pretty good.

I also wanted to create a sense of community and make everyone feel like family, were we are all friends, and it is amazing how within 20 minutes everyone feels like they are hanging out with their best friends.

The greatest thing about the workshops I do is that people come in as strangers and leave as friends. These awesome adventures bring people close together and the goodbye hug is always bittersweet… This images are form the last Everglades workshop of the season. Do not worry, I am currently working on the new schedule click on this link to register.
