When it comes to lenses there is always a favorite in any photographer’s camera bag. For me, it is no different and it is one lens and one lens only. It is the Nikon 14-24mm wide-angle lens.
Nikon 14-24 Lens Review
In this Nikon 14-24 lens review, we will cover what this lens is good for and who this lens is for. Furthermore, all the images shown on this page have been shot with the Nikon 14-24mm wide-angle lens.
I have been shooting with this lens for the better part of 8 years, and to this day it is still my favorite lens. I have shot insane landscapes with it, weddings, concerts, street photography and just about everything you can possibly imagine.
The lens is massive, it’s a big lens and it is heavy, however, when you start taking photos, you forget about the size and the wight. The Nikor 14-24 mm 2.8 lens is a very sharp lens and being a 2.8 it is a very fast lens. In low light situations, it is perfect, especially in concerts or doing any type of music photography.
If you are looking for a great all-around lens, this is NOT it. This lens is very specific to mainly landscape photographers, however, it is good in all kinds of situations. This is the one lens that never leaves my bag. I mainly use it for my landscapes however you can catch me with it just about any time.
Instead of giving you all the specs and all the mumbo jumbo, I am posting some photos I have shot with this lens.
Who is this lens good for?
This lens is good for anyone interested in or already doing landscape photography. It is also good for real estate or architectural photography and of course if you shoot music photography is a must-have.
Pros
The Nikon 14-24 mm Lens is sharp, it is also very fast with a low F-stop of 2.8. It is extremely wide so you can get those incredible ultra-wide shots. This is an FX full-frame lens, however, it will work with a DX camera.
Cons
This lens is big, bulky and heavy. If you like to pack light, forget about it. This lens weighs more than your camera body.
Conclusion
This is an incredible lens, great for any serious photographer out there. I never leave my house without it, whether it’s for work or for fun.
This is a pano I shot with the Nikon 14-24mm Lens.

Is there a problem with taking a photo with the camera vertical instead of just horizontal?
No there is not, both look amazing.
What Nd filters do you use with this 14-24 Nikon lens? Polarizer?
I do not use any filters with this particular lens.
you know i look at so many reviews – looking for the ultra wide for my 810 – 16-35 the Zeiss – good alternatives but i always end up looking back at the 14-24 – it comes down to the “pace” and slowing it all down especially with night and time exposures -at present I use my old d zooms and they are ok but it pretty much looks like i probably will end up searching for a good 14-24. the jury is still out on the right “filter” add on system and I bet i will have to upgrade my excellent punks travis tripod as I guess it wont cope with the weight! thanks .. No prob, yes I think this is the best wide angle lens on the market, and I have tried many. B&H has a good sale on them right now: https://bhpho.to/3NKKfcu Its actually kind of crazy. Let me know how you like it :)
