Mono Lake California

Mono Lake California

Located in Mono County California, Mono Lake is very large and was formed at least 760,000 years ago according to Wikipedia.

This place is one of the weirdest lakes I have ever seen, it feels like you are in another planet, from the rock formations to the water itself it feels completely surreal. It took me a while to get here but it was well worth the drive.

Mono Lake-1

Once the sun started to set the colors came alive, everything made sense once again and I could not wipe the grin off my face. I was in a different planet and it felt so right. What started off with about 50 photographers ended up with just one. Once the sun was gone I looked behind me and everyone was gone, it was perfect.

I sat on the ground and gazed at the stars listening to the wild birds around me (and some strange noises coming from the water). 45 minutes later I changed spots and did the same thing before the cold ran me off…. I ended up driving 334 miles to take a few photos and it was worth every second of it…

I shot this in the South Tufa Area, I drove around the entire lake and I found this to be the best place to shoot.

Bring a tripod, some warm clothes and make sure you stay there well after the sunset, it can be a bit creepy specially if your alone but, it’s a must.

Well after the sun had set the waves were getting really big at La Pared beach in Fuerteventura Spain, out of the corner of my eye I spotted this surfer, it was starting to get really dark but he didn’t care, he just wanted to surf into the night.

Azure window in Gozo Malta. After the sun set the wind followed the blue hour, you could hear it cutting through the rocks making a beautiful melody that just made me smile.
