Hurricane Irma aftermath Miami Florida

I woke up bright and early to see what had happened in Miami after the Hurricane Irma paid a visit with winds if the excess of 100 MPH. This was a crazy and very tense experience. I am very happy to tell you that the damages were not as devastating as they could have been.

I am also very happy that I am able to write this post so you can read it. After experiencing this insane Hurricane named Irma, I was happy to see the streets were no longer flooded and clean up started immediately.

Here are some of the images and video I was able to capture this morning. I am safe and can now say I have experienced mother nature in full force.

As the sky closed in and a light breeze started, we know what was about to unfold. Now the sun is out the skies are clear, as if nothing ever happened.

Miami will never forget such an event and will come back stronger than ever. Stay strong Miami.

Photos of Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma is here. I have been hiding indoors for 6 hours. The storm is so crazy insane, the entire state of Florida is stuck in a wind tunnel. There is a lot of damage from what I can see in through the balcony. The entire building is shaking all you hear is the roar of mother nature. Cranes are falling down streets are flooded, mass chaos and destruction is happening as I write this post. Here are some images and some footage of the early stages of Hurricane Irma.

Mother nature always wins.

I shot this photos with my Nikon D800 and my favorite lens ever Nikon 24-85mm.

How to make everything better

No matter how bad my day is going, my weekend went, or what personal things are happening in my life, I know at the end of the day I always have my camera. That’s my escape, that is the only thing I can count on to take my mind go elsewhere, exactly where I want to be.

That is the magic of photography, it takes you away (physically and mentally) to the most amazing places you can imagine. It’s just like dreaming but in real life. Have you ever had a dream and you just did not want it to end? Well, that is exactly what photography is for me, an endless dream of unlimited possibilities… What does photography mean to you?

I shot the image in the video with my Nikon D800 and my Nikon 14-24mm on my MeFOTO tripod.

How to Document Everything

I love photography, there is no question about that. There is something about documenting the world passing you by. Change is constant and without us documenting life itself, we would forget what the past looked like. Photographers are so important in this world for that reason alone.

It is the photos from the past that make our present and our future that much better.

As simple as this lifeguard tower might seem to someone, it is part of my history, and one day 30-40 years from now, I will look at this photos and remember how different times were.

I shot the images with my Nikon D800 and my Nikon 24-85mm with a 10 stop ND filter on my MeFOTO tripod.

Shooting the Miami Skyline

Just like any other night, yesterday I grabbed my camera and headed out the door. I was so happy to go skate around and also to catch a nice sunset. The night before the sunset was epic, full of color, it looked like a crayon box had melted in the sky.

I met up with my friend Luis Enrique, and the night did not disappoint. It was not colorful like the previous night, however, it was nice and moody, the wind was blowing giving the night a really cool mood. It felt like I was walking through an amusement park at night.

I also got to fly my Mavic Pro so the evening was just epic. Check out the video to watch behind the scenes. I shot this with my Nikon D800 and my Nikon 70-200 lens. (this lens is super sharp) I shot all this on my baby tripod, I love this thing, I’m telling you it comes in handy without having to carry around a big heavy one.

You can see this exact location on my Top 10 Places to Photograph in Miami Beach article.

Miami Drone Photos

The sky was on fire like a bomb went off in the distance. It was insane. Luckily I had my drone and I was able to get some really cool footage. I love days like this intense.  The cloud formations were just perfect. I shot all these photos with my Mavic Pro and edited them with my new DJI Lightroom Presets. For having such a small sensor, the camera on the Mavic Pro works great.

Miami sunsets are always epic.

Here is a video giving you my top 10 drone photography tips. This is how I take all my drone images.
