Florida Polytechnic University an epic architectural feat. It is no secret that I have a bit of an obsession with architecture, once I saw a photo of this place I wanted to visit right away. Lucky for me the opportunity presented itself and there I was. Once I arrived, I was intrigued by the design, it looks like a massive spacecraft laying in the middle of nowhere. Lucky for me there was no-one around and I had the entire place to my self, inside and outside.
Florida Poly was established on April 20, 2012, and it is located in Lakeland Florida, between Orlando and Tampa Florida. It focuses on careers in advanced fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava was selected to design the campus’ first building.
Upon its arrival, I was stunned by what I saw. The Florida Polytechnic University looks like a spaceship that just landed from outer space. The closer you get to it, the better it looks. As I approached the front door, my jaw began to drop. It is such a cool building, I stood there in awe for a few minutes before picking up my camera to start taking photos.
If you ever get a chance to visit, stop by you will not be disappointed.

Here are a few photos from the recent Miami Sunrise Meet Up I hosted before my crazy trip to the West coast. The conditions were not perfect when I first got there, the sky was clear and the scenery look kind of flat, suddenly the clouds started rolling in and the sun stared to rise making this a beautiful Miami Sunrise. I’ll be hosting another sunrise meet up on the beach so stay tuned…
4 am I open my eyes, I look at the clock and realize I am not going back to bed. I turn on the tv and its forensic files, I look at the clock and its 5:30 am. At this point I’m thinking about the ocean and an amazing sunrise but I’m glued to my bed, next thing you know I get this image in my head. I look at the clock ant its 6:15am. I jump out of bed throw on some shorts grab my camera and go to the beach. The sky was perfect.
The first image is what I had in my head while laying in my bed, but when I got there and I started walking around I realized there was lots more potential and more awesome angles to be had.
The clouds were moving and the colors were saturated and alive. Next thing you know people started coming from all directions.
Everyone just wanted a peek of the sunrise…
Once I took all my photos and took all this in I picked up my bike form the sand and started walking away, then I turned my head and had to pull out my camera for one last shot…
If this isn’t the start of a perfect day I don’t know what is. Which one is your favorite photo? I made a video on editing this photos, it will be up shortly….

Living in Miami I always see this massive cruise ships arriving and leaving the port, I have actually been in a few of this things and they are impressive. I always feel so tiny!!! I always wonder how this massive structures float. (displacement I know, I know, but I mean seriously??)
Over the last couple weeks I have been going to the port to shoot this things parked, loading and unloading people, food, and drinks. It has been a fun project and one I will continue to work on in the next few months.
They almost look like toys from up high, but I can assure you they are anything but. Some are smaller than others, some are elegant and some just look like a blast!!!
The last one on this page is my favorite, I shot it a few different days with different lighting, but this one is the best. Have you ever been on one?
I woke up bring and early to catch a sunrise this particular morning. I knew at this time of the year the sun rose between the rocks and the pier but unfortunately this morning the sunrise was short of spectacular.
I was watching the cloud formations and the slow movement and realized the using a 10 stop filter and doing a really slow exposure would make for an interesting shot.
