Where are the best places to photograph in Jupiter Florida? When it comes to Jupiter Florida there is one place I frequent. It is a large place that you have a lot of freedom to get very interesting photos. That is the Nature Conservatory Blowing Rocks.
Blowing Rocks is a great place to visit any time of the year. The best time to come is at sunrise since its facing east. Try to come during the weekday because during the weekends this place gets really busy.
Parking can be a bit of a pain. The parking lot is closed during sunrise hours, however, there is street parking about a mile down south. I usually park there then walk down to the beach and take the nice walk up the cost. You will know when you get there as you start to see the rock formations.

There are 2 things about visiting blowing rocks you need to know. Number one visits during low tide. This will allow you to get into the rocks and get some interesting perspectives. Number two is to come during high tide. This is when you will actually get the effect of “Blowing Rocks”. I prefer low tide.

As a very active photographer in the city, when I am not on a paid shoot, I am always looking for the best photography spots Miami has to offer. As such, I am continually finding new places in this beautiful place we call Magic city.

Below is a list of the best photography spots Miami has to offer. These are places I often visit and have my seal of approval. I also wrote when the best times to photograph at these locations are. The best photography spotsMiamihas are all effortless to access. Pack light and get to work. If you hustle, you can get all these done by the time your vacation is done. The image below was shot from a friend’s balcony; that is why it did not make the list of the best photography spots Miami edition. But it’s a pretty picture. One of my favorites. I shot it with my Nikon and my Nikon 70-200.
The gear I used for all my photos: Nikon D800 with a Nikon 14-24mm and a Nikon 24-85mm. A MeFOTO tripod and a wide-angle is a must. I edit all my images with my Lightroom Presets, download them, and give them a try.
Top 30 Best Photography Spots in Miami Florida
1. Matheson Hammocks Park. This park is lovely. It took a beating from Hurricane Irma; however, you can still get beautiful images there. This is a popular location for engagement photoshoots as well.
2. Ocean Drive, Miami Beach. This is an iconic place where a lot of famous films and TV shows are filmed. This place is a must at sunset and or at night.
3. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. This place is fantastic. It is full of history and epic for photoshoots. The best time to shoot is really all day as there is beautiful light all day in the gardens.
4. Miami Skyline under MacArthur Causeway. This is one of my favorite places to shoot and hang out at. This place is located right next to the Miami Children’s Museum. It is straightforward to find and a great place to catch a sunset over the skyline.
5. Miami Beach Surfers. You can find surfers in Miami Beach in the wintertime. As we get a cold front from the Bahamas, the waves get bigger, and the surfers come out. This is a very relaxed time to catch a sunrise and hang out with the chill crowd of Miami.

6. Key Biscayne Beach. This place is really excellent, and one of the only dog-friendly beaches in South Florida. The best time to shoot is at sunset. Bring a beer or a nice bottle of wine and enjoy the scenery.
7. Miami Skyline on top of the MacArthur Causeway. This is the view from the top of the MacArthur Causeway. You can access it from the Southern side of it. There is a nice long ramp that takes you to this spot—Park at the Miami Children’s Museum.
8. Sunny Isles Pier. This is a great place to come shoot the sunrise. You have to be up early to make it, but it’s well worth the short drive. There is almost never anyone here.
9. Ball Harbor Beach. Beautiful views of the Atlantic can be seen from here. The best time to come is at sunrise.
10. South Pointe Pier. I shot this photo from the top of the pier. From here, you can catch beautiful views of Miami just about any direction you look. The best time to come is at sunrise and or sunset.

11. South Pointe Park. This is one of my favorite places to come enjoy the sunset. You can see the port of Miami and watch the ships go in and out of the harbor. It’s a site to see.
12. Maurice Gibbs Park in Miami Beach. You have beautiful views of the islands from here. The best time to come is at sunset. This place is right around the corner from me. We might possibly run into each other as I come here often.
13. The Miami Skyline from the Venetian Bridge. This is another view you can get of the Miami skyline. I shot this from the Venetian bridge closest to downtown. The best thing to do is to rent a bike and ride it across. Its only 2-3 miles each way, and it is a beautiful ride. I do this bike ride twice a day just to relax and get the blood flowing.
14. Miami Beach Lifeguard Towers. These can be found all over the beach, and they are very colorful and beautiful. The best time to catch one of these beauties is during sunrise. Anywhere in Miami Beach, these can be spotted.
15. Alice Wainwright Park. This is a great park to relax and catch a sunrise—lots of palm trees and water views. You also have this cool benches that say Miami on them.

16. Bayside Mall. To get this particular shot, you have to walk up the bridge from Bayside Mall. It’s a short walk and well worth it. I recommend a wide-angle lens for this shot.
17. The rocks in Miami Beach. These rocks can be found on the beach in 30th street. The best time to come is at sunrise during low tide.
18.Brickell Key. This is shot from Brickell Key looking East towards downtown. Best time to come in at sunset and or at night.
19. The Miami River. This is the Miami River; you can find a path to walk it downtown. It is a beautiful walk with plenty of photo ops. The best time to come is at night.
20. Sunrise at the bach. This is as simple as it sounds. Head to the beach for an epic morning, kick back, and enjoy the scenery. This is Miami Beach, of course.

21. Haulover Inlet. This is an excellent spot to come for sunrise. There are lots of fishermen unless there is a storm. I captured this image during a crazy storm in the hurricane season.
22. Faena Hotel. This is the only place in Miami and possibly the world that has a golden Mammoth. Gret place to take photos, and it is right on the beach.
23. The Everglades National Park. If you have time, you absolutely must go to Everglades National Park. Just look at this photograph.
24. Wynwood Walls. Alone or with a model, Wynwood is a must. It is a really cool trendy area covered in graffiti full of like-minded artists. While you are there, stop at Panther coffee. Trust me, its OK.
25. Downtown-Brickell skyscrapers. There are so many cool buildings all around Miami. If you are into architecture, you need to come here at night. Remember to look up.

26. Deering Estate. This is a cool property owned by the state. You need to have permission to come here, and it is $20.00 to get in. It is not always open. Make sure you check availability before you arrive. The best time is sunrise.
27. Brickell City Centre. This is a new mall, and its all the rage. Come here to get some food and enjoy the beautiful modern architecture. The best time to come is at any time.
28. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. This is a beautiful park you can come to and relax. This is great, especially if you have a shoot to do.
29. Little Havana. Little Havana is a small taste of Cuba. There are restaurants and people playing dominoes. This is the perfect place to give your street photography a shot. It’s the closest place to Cuba you can get without actually being there.
30. Boca Chita Key. This place is just stunning. However, you will need a boat to get there unless you are an incredible swimmer (jk). Once you find a ship, head there at sunset. The best lens to use is 24-70.

The Miami Museum of Ice Cream is as Pink as you imagine
What is this place? Its the Museum of Ice Cream. I had no idea what to expect before walking into the Museum of Ice Cream. As soon as the door behind me closed all I could see was pink, like being inside a massive cotton candy ball.
Ok ok, here is what I want you to do. Close your eyes, now imagine walking into a happy place, not just any place but a place you would read about in a children’s fantasy book. Are you there? Now paint it pink. Yes, its kind of like that. People smiling, kids laughing it is just a great time. Ok great, let’s walk through the place together.
With a massive grin on my face, I approach a fortune teller, and you guessed it, she is dressed in pink. She asks me to pick a card, and after careful consideration, the card is chosen. Like a kid at a candy store, am full of joy and I listen as she reeds my fortune. I was kind of skeptical at first but I do not want to spoil this adventure for you but let’s just say she predicted everything correctly.
We make our way to the first room, where the sprinkle pool is. It is epic but a bit crowded. There are screaming children everywhere. We wait until everyone exits and we get our shots before the next group comes in.
The Museum of Ice Cream gets cooler as you start walking through the mase of pink.
The beautiful thing about the Museum of Icecream is that the fun never ends, they have ice cream in just about every corner, and every spot is a photo op. Let me rephrase that, is an incredible photo op, unlike any photo op out there.
We spent about 3 hours there and we could have spent a lot longer. Once you make it past the first room, the crowds start to dissipate and everyone starts to go at their own pace, some slower than others.
Cameras are allowed and you can click the day away in just about every corner. The entire staff is friendly and they go out of their way to help you get your perfect shot. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
The Museum of Icecream finishes at the rooftop of the building. A nice place to eat the last scoop of key lime pie ice cream while watching the sunset with an epic ocean view.

All You Need to Know About Corporate Event Photography

Corporate event photography is one of the many specialties in the photography industry, and it involves taking photos of special company events. Most photographers make their living from this kind of photography as many companies hold regular events like conferences, cocktail receptions, marketing events, dinners, trade shows, seminars, and parties, among others. It is a profitable market with a captive audience – the company’s employees and officers. As a Miami Event Photographer, I have seen it all.
Here is what you need to know about Corporate Event Photography
Corporate event photography is not like a fashion shoot or street photography, but all the photos must still tell a story. Most subjects taken are either moving or on the move which shows a more formal environment. A good corporate photographer will be able to come up with creative shots even if there is no such opportunity in the events.

What a client that pays you will request from you is great work; so it important to know some basics of good corporate event photography – you can simply start by learning more about your client and the event itself.
Getting to Know Your Client (Very Important)
When it comes to corporate event photography, the first thing you need to be a good corporate event photographer is to know your client. Read and research all about the company. Find out from people what makes the company unique and get information about its success story. Ask a lot of questions on the initial meeting and make sure you know and understand exactly what they want and need.

After getting to know the client, get to know about the event
You now need to know and understand your assignment that is the event. Knowing that you will be shooting an awards ceremony for the company’s employees is not enough, you need to have relevant information about the event. Examples include; what’s the story behind the awards? How were the awardees chosen? And what awards will be given away? These and other questions will give you an insight of what your client wants from you. Get as much insight as you possibly can about the event.
When you talk to your client about the event details and ask questions like; will there be a pre-event shoot? Is there a required outfit? What time should you be there? Get all details ready for the event for easy preparation. Other important questions include Wi-Fi available in the venue? Is there a place I can set up my work area during the event? Will another photographer be present at the event? And always ask for a shoot list. This will make your life a lot easier when it comes to getting the job done and done right.
Things to Do Before the Event
Some days before the event day, you should start preparing yourself and your equipment.
1. Study the venue – You can get a layout of the venue from the client If possible. This will allow you to study your angles and plan your shots ahead of time. You will be able to choose the best angles for each shot so that when the event comes, you won’t be struggling to have a right shot.
2. Get a copy of the complete event program (or schedule) from the manager or the organizer of the event. This will give you an idea of the flow of activities. Furthermore, this will help you draw up your plan. This is especially important when there is an awards ceremony and or a red carpet event. You must know your times.

3. Invest in a good outfit – Always remember that you are going to a corporate event, not a night out with friends or a fashion show. You have to adhere to the motif or theme of the event. You must blend with the guests present at the event. Guests wear formal or semi-formal attires most of the time at corporate events.
During the Event
As mentioned above, you should look like a professional when you blend in with the guests. You are also expected to act accordingly about this. When dealing with such industry, it pays to be courteous and respectful. Below are some tips that will help you perform better during the event.
1. Move around the venue slowly – When you do this, you will be finding good subjects. You can make use of zoom lens if you cannot be as close as to your subject as you want. To make this better, you can bring one long zoom and one short zoom lens. This way you have lots of options when you are at the venue.
2. Always ask for permission before you take a photo of someone or a group of people. Introduce yourself to them as the event’s official photographer, and they will almost always allow you to take their photograph. Please keep in mind some people do not want to be photographed. Do not let that get you down, just keep making your way around and keep shooting.

3. Try to get shots from different angles as much as possible. This is where pre-checking of the event venue is important. You will always have a better result with more varied shots. Varied shots will also give you different perspectives. Always try to get creative with your photos, remember you are the photographer and that’s why they hired you. Make use of interesting angles and perspectives to have nice shots. Keep angles interesting to keep the photos interesting. You can shoot between floral arrangements if available etc.
4. Do not take photos of people eating. Particularly when they have their mouths wide open! You can use the dinnertime to rest and review your first shots instead of taking photos.
5. In addition to the point above, you should also avoid taking photos of presenters and speakers with their mouths open. In this case, you can take continuous shots of the speaker and later choose the ones which are good and don’t show the speaker or presenter in a non-desirable pose or angle, only pick the best shots.
6. Take candid shots of people and always try the flash on and the flash off. See what looks best. Point your flash toward the ceiling of the venue, this will bounce a nice soft light on the guest. This will also reduce red-eye in your pictures because the red eye is caused when light enters the subject’s eyes at a right angle.
7. Work well and work fast – this is because corporate clients often ask for most of the photos at the end of the event or a day after the event. Your work must be beautifully done and very fast.
8. Don’t be afraid to have fun with posed shots. Always challenge yourself to get more playful even though the organizers may want a variety of shots of attendees. Most event organizers just want the ‘grip and grin shots,’ and this works mostly with interesting or famous people.
9. Always have a plan on how to use the photos before the corporate event. If it is a repeatable event, you may want to make the photos as evergreen as possible (meaning keep it fresh and relevant). Avoid anything that might feel dated or a unique location.
10. Use abstract shots for marketing. While it is important to take shots of attendees having fun, you can also get shots of abstracts that are not focusing on any individual. This is good if your client will be using your corporate event photographs for marketing.

Aside from zoom lens (I highly recommend this one), you should also carry the following equipment along whenever you do corporate event photography:
An external flash (though one might be okay for you, you may need 2 one as back up)
Extra camera (in case your camera stops working in the middle of the event)
Extra memory cards and batteries (as many as you can in the case of unforeseen circumstances)

A tripod or monopod stand (this is important if you will have to stay in a fixed position for some time)Try as much as possible to be at the event early enough to make a good impression on your client. 7 years ago I hosted my first photography workshop in Miami. I remember clearly setting it up and posting it on my social media. It was a shoot with a model, I ended up selling it out, the attendees had a great time and it was loads of fun. I was hooked…
Fast forward a couple of years. I decided to do all types of Miami photography workshops and more often. I decided to do this for 2 reasons, number one because I really love teaching people, and number two because I never had this type of opportunity to learn.

You see, back then workshops where really non-existent, at least affordable ones that anyone could attend. Everything I would ever find was incredibly expensive. Such as 12-day African excursions for loads of cash. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to go on one, but let’s face it, not a lot of people have that kind of cash or free time to attend one of this awesome workshops.
This is when the lightbulb went on and I decided to create 1-8 hour workshops that everyone could afford.
I ran all the workshops out of my own website (and still do). Once things started to get a bit crazy I decided to build a new site, add new times and dates and create an all around fun place for people to come learn, participate and take some incredible photos that when WalksOfMiami was born. .This is the beginning of something big. I want to keep adding tours and workshops and I will also be adding new hosts (aka teachers and tour guides) all hand-picked and overseen by me.
