Travel Con 2018 in Austin Texas was amazing. I spent last week surrounded by incredible people with the same goals. To travel the world and make money doing it.
I was one of the speakers at this conference and nothing makes me happier than teaching people about what I am so passionate about. Photography.

Travel Con was incredible and a massive success. I connected with so many people, and it was great to see and hang out with old friends.

The keynotes were not only inspiring but extremely informational. For anyone from beginners to pros, this conference was inspirational, uplifting and of course, a great place to meet like-minded people.

How to make money with your blog is something everyone wonders about. I certainly did when I first started my blog.
Why does every photographer need a blog? The answer is simple, to get your message out there and to make more money. A blog is critical to everyone trying to run a photography business.
Let’s break it down. When you have a blog, you can offer things to sell. These can be digital downloads, classes, courses or merchandise. You can even sell email access to you or a skype call to your readers. You would be surprised how many people are actually looking for this sort of services. These are things you can’t really offer on a photography portfolio site.
Starting a blog is not as hard as you would imagine, and it should be priority number one right after launching your portfolio website.
If you look at most great photographers, they all run a blog. Not only can you sell things out of your blog, but Google loves blogs. Every time you post a blog, Google ranks you, and the more you post, the better you look in googles eyes.
What is that mean, well if you want to do work in a local market, all you have to do is write a blog post about the area you live in. Such as “best places to eat,” “best places to photograph,” “things to do” etc.
You get my point. These are things people are continually looking for on google, and for a great reason. Because there are tons of blog posts on the internet about such things.
I recently did a podcast with understandphotography.com where I talk about how I make money from my photography blog. It is crazy to me to think of all the photographers out there, that do not have a blog. I can assure you that as soon as you start a blog, you will be closer to making more money as a photographer.

What is Luminar? Luminar is the new editing software made by Skylum. It is incredibly fast and the possibilities are endless. I have been using it for a while now and it is really good. While trying to find something broken in the software or something missing I keep finding new features. I can not find anything wrong with the software as of this Luminar review.
How does it work?
When you open up the software, right off the bat the first thing you see is a set of presets at the bottom of the screen. This is really good because it gives you a good idea of what the photo can actually look like before you even start doing anything to it.
If you really like what you see, then you can just use that preset and be done with it. I know it is that awesome and super simple to do.
If you want to adjust that preset, all you have to do is apply it and adjust it to taste. (see the right-hand side)
Slylum Luminar Review
Who is Luminar For? Luminar is for every photographer, from beginners to pros. It works on Mac and PC. That is correct everyone can use this awesome software.
Can I use it with Lightroom? The answer is yes you can. Luminar can be used inside of Lightroom as a plugin. It is very easy to install and it has so many more adjustments than Lightroom.
If you find yourself to be overwhelmed with all this filters and masks and adjustments. Do not panic, Luminar has an awesome workspace called quick and awesome. It basically does the work for you.
I know it is crazy to think about software reading your mind, but it really does. When you pick the quick and awesome workspace there is a slider to boost the image as much as you want. Then magic happens.
These are all the workspace options you have. You can also create your own making your workflow even better.
Are you into drone photography? Skylum Luminar is loaded with Arial photography workspace as well as presets so you do not feel lonely inside the software. It works really good.
Check out the portrait workspace. It has so many options to beautify your portraits. Once you open this software up, you will be addicted. (just doing this review I have edited 15 photos and I keep forgetting I am doing a review) lol not a bad problem to have.
Conclusion
Bottom line is that Luminar is a great piece of software. It is another tool to have in your toolkit. Luminar has many different workspaces form street photography, to landscape photography, to portrait photography and the list goes on. Skylum Luminar truly is designed by photographers for photographers.
Wildlife Photography. When you see those incredible wildlife photos in a magazine, you can’t help to ask yourself how do they do that? The photos look so crisp and good that you just want to pick up your camera and go out there and shoot. Even if it’s your dog out in the yard, you want to take that perfect photo.
I spent some time out at the Everglades last week. I wanted to shoot some birds along with some gators and other wildlife. It was so incredible out there, I felt I was part of the Everglades and felt right at home. Photographing birds and wildlife can be extremely soothing. Not only birds but wildlife in general. Being out in nature is a perfect way to release stress and just get lost. This is why I created this video on how to shoot wildlife photos.

While I was out there I made a video to show you how I shoot wildlife. In this video, you will see what I do to get the right shot. It is not as complicated as you might think, however, there are things that you need to know like what are the best lenses to use, what is the best Aperture, and shutter speed, and what to look for while you are out there. This is my favorite lens for wildlife photography.
In this video, I break all these things down and show you exactly how I shoot these beautiful birds. These tips and tricks can be applied to photographing any wildlife, from birds to any kind of animal out there. The Everglades National Park has incredible species of birds, its a perfect place to photograph wildlife.

How to install Lightroom Presets. In this video, I will teach you how you can install Lightroom Presets in your old Lightroom and in Lightroom CC. People often ask me if they switch to Lightroom CC can they move their presets over, and the answer is YES. You can install old presets, new presets and any kind of prests in Lightroom CC. The beautiful thing about Adobe Lightroom is that they are always updating their software. However, they always think of us and of all the tools we use.
Ever since I have been using Lightroom Presets, I have never had an issue with installing them in their software. With the update to Lightroom CC, it is no different. The ease of use of Adobe Lightroom and the ease of installing the Lightroom Presets make it a no-brainer for me.
In this video, I will show you how you can do this very easily. The Presets I use in the video are my DJI Aerial Presets. In the second video, I will show you how to install Lightroom presets in any other Lightroom you might have. You can download more of my Lightroom Presets here.
